When country music meets craftsmanship, something unforgettable happens.
For Ella Langley’s new song “Choosing Texas,” written by the legendary Miranda Lambert, Westerly USA was chosen to bring the spirit of the Lone Star State to life through a one-of-a-kind pair of custom red and white leather chaps.

The commission came from Ella’s stylist, Stefani Colvin, who reached out to me with a clear vision: something bold, iconic, and unapologetically Texas. Together, we landed on a design inspired by the state itself—rich Italian red leather, crisp white stars cascading down each leg, and perfectly balanced red-and-white fringe that moves with rhythm and purpose. Every inch of these chaps was created with performance and personality in mind.

Built by Hand in Sedona

Chris Chandler—my husband, creative partner, and master craftsman—and I spent two weeks bringing these chaps to life in our Sedona workshop. Each piece of leather was hand-cut, measured, and shaped precisely to Ella’s fit. From the sweeping star inlays to the Western buckles, no detail was left unconsidered.

We worked with premium Italian leathers, chosen not only for their beauty but their strength and durability. The structure of the chaps was reinforced with timeless construction techniques—stitched on Chris’s vintage Juki walking-foot machine, which delivers impeccable precision and longevity. Every seam was meant to last a lifetime, built to move, dance, and perform under stage lights.

The fringe was a chapter of its own. We wanted the length to strike a perfect balance—long enough to move dramatically with Ella’s every step, but never too long to distract or catch. Each strand creating a wave of movement that mirrors the rhythm and heart.

This project captures what Westerly USA stands for: slow fashion, made by hand, driven by spirit.
